Is it just me or are mens coats really quite boring?  It may be that it’s not the designers that lack a little imagination but more the fact that guys tend to buy the same things and therefore all mens coats end up looking the same.  I have a male friend who enjoys wearing mens coats and he has everything from a rain Mac to a full length leather coat (that he never wears theses days thank goodness) but I know many more guys who are likely to opt for leather or denim jackets as opposed to mens coats. Just like women’s coats, good quality classic design mens coats will last for years – that is the reason why in years gone by so many men used to wear coats that had previously belonged to their fathers; you invest in quality and it will pay you back over the years.  In the same way that impressions are made about a man by looking at his shoes, the first thing people notice about guys is their mens coats and what they are wearing as their outer layer.  If the weather is bad, no-one can see what you are wearing underneath and therefore judgements will be made simply by the coat you are wearing so it is important to choose and buy wisely and I would suggest you opt for a colour like black or grey which will usually mix and match well with everything else in your closet.
